How to Build a Media Wall with an Electric Fire

There are many ways to build a media wall, and the method you choose depends on your space, style, and needs. Below is just one example of how you can create a stunning media wall using one of our electric fireplaces.

A media wall with an electric fire is the ultimate statement piece for modern living rooms. It combines warmth, style, and functionality—blending a beautiful electric fire with your TV, soundbar, and built-in storage for a sleek, contemporary finish.

At Endeavour Fires, we’ve helped thousands of homeowners transform their homes with stylish and energy-efficient electric fires. In this guide, we’ll walk you through how to build a media wall using the steps shown in the image above.

What You’ll Need:

  • Electric fire (like the Endeavour Rosedale)
  • Timber battens for framing
  • Plasterboard (drywall)
  • Screws, fixings, and brackets
  • Power sockets
  • TV bracket and optional soundbar shelf
  • Tools: saw, drill, level, tape measure

Step 1: Build the Timber Frame

Start by building the stud frame directly onto your existing wall. Plan the layout carefully to accommodate your electric fire and leave space above for a television.

Tip: Measure your electric fire (width, height, depth) before you build, and allow for airflow around the unit.

  • Fix horizontal supports at the height where the fire will sit.
  • Run a power supply to the fire location.

In Step 1 (see image above), the timber structure is in place and the fire is positioned with wiring access.

Step 2: Add Storage & Cable Management

Now add internal shelves or recesses to house devices like game consoles, Sky boxes, or routers. Think about cable access—keep it tidy by running wires through the framework.

  • Fit your electric fire into position (following the manufacturer’s instructions).
  • Add plug sockets as required.
  • Test the flame and heat settings before sealing up the wall.

Step 2 shows a snug fire fit with shelving and wiring built in.

Step 3: Board and Finish

Once the internal structure is ready, it’s time to cover the frame with plasterboard. Tape and fill the joints, then sand the surface smooth for decorating.

  • Carefully cut openings for the fire and any shelves.
  • Secure your TV bracket at the correct height for viewing.

In Step 3, the wall is fully boarded and ready for the final touches.

Step 4: Add the TV and Accessories

Install your television and any additional features like a soundbar or lighting strip.

  • Mount the TV bracket securely into the framework.
  • Place the soundbar shelf just below the TV or integrate it into the wall for a flush finish.

Step 4 shows a completed media wall with TV, soundbar, and fire beautifully integrated.
