A wall mounted electric fire should be installed with a minimum clearance of 20 cm from the floor to ensure safe operation.
Installation
Yes — our electric fireplace suites are designed for flat-to-wall installation. They can be fitted securely against the wall using the mirror brackets supplied with your unit.
In some homes, you may need to trim the skirting board slightly to allow the surround to sit completely flush and achieve a clean, seamless finish.
This makes installation simple, especially for rooms without a chimney or recess.
The power cable on our electric fires is approximately 1.7 metres in length, allowing flexible placement for most room layouts.
For exact measurements for each model, you can refer to the PDF manual available on the individual product page.
Yes, our electric fireplace surrounds are delivered as a flatpack and will require simple self-assembly. All fittings, brackets, and step-by-step instructions are included inside the box.
For the best and safest installation, we recommend that two people assemble the surround and position the electric fire together.
PDF instruction manuals are available on each individual product page. Simply click the Downloads tab beneath the product image.
The distance you need to leave between an electric fireplace and electronics like a TV will depend on each individual model.
We recommend leaving at least 20cm – or 8 inches – for most electric fire models, but please check each listing before installing, as some units may require distances of up to 40cm (16 inches).
No, you don’t need to remove the full unit. You can simply remove the front glass panel to access and replace key components such as the PCB board, fan, LED or other internal parts.
Most Endeavour electric fires are plug-in and ready to use, so no electrician is required unless you’re fitting into a wall cavity or creating a media wall.
Yes, as long as there’s at least 300 mm clearance above the heater vent so the warm air doesn’t affect your TV.
Product Specific Questions
Yes, we supply a bracket for all wall-mounted fireplaces, which you should use to attach it to the wall. However, please note that we do not supply screws. You will need to purchase the appropriate screws, depending on the type of wall you are fixing your electric fire to.
Yes, you can purchase the electric fire unit separately from the fireplace surround. Many customers choose this option when replacing an existing fire or pairing a new unit with their own mantel.
If you are unsure whether your current mantel or surround is compatible with our electric fire, please contact us and we’ll be happy to advise you before you place your order.
The heater creates a low level of white noise due to the fan. However, if you’re just using the mood lighting and/or flame effects, then your electric fire will be almost silent.
Yes, all our electric fires have the option to leave the heater off and use only the mood lighting or flame effects. This means you can enjoy the cosy effect of the realistic flames in all seasons – even hot weather.
Selected smart models like the New Hawnby Smart Fire are voice-assistant compatible.
Yes — most electric fireplace suites include multiple flame and fuel-bed colour options with adjustable brightness.
Based on the average UK energy rate (29p per kWh), a 2 kW electric fire costs around 58p per hour when using the heater function.
If you use the flame-only mode, the cost is much lower — typically under 5p per day, depending on usage.
Electric fires are energy-efficient and allow you to enjoy the flame effect without running the heater.
Electric fires are designed as a secondary heat source. They are perfect for adding quick, comfortable warmth to living rooms and bedrooms, but they are not intended to replace whole-house heating systems.
For the best comfort, use your electric fire alongside your central heating.

Using your remote control
If your electric fire remote control has stopped responding, it has most likely become unpaired from your electric fireplace. This can happen after a power cut, battery change, or accidental button press.
Follow the steps below to re-sync your remote:
-
Locate the reset/sync button on the fire unit. Press and hold it with a pen tip until you hear a beep.
-
Press the power button on the remote control.
-
A second beep confirms that the remote has been successfully paired with your electric fire.
If your fireplace still does not respond, replace the remote batteries and repeat the process. Low batteries are a common cause of pairing issues.
